Codex Computer Use

I finally used Codex Computer Use and it's pretty insane.

I had to setup a bunch of events on Eventbrite that were duplicates of each other except for different locations, dates, and times. The Eventbrite website is somehow painfully slow, its Copy Event feature is inefficient and there's no way to create a "template" event. This made my job a very slow, manual, and tedious process.

That's when I thought I would try Codex Computer Use. I opened Eventbrite in a browser window, then told Codex to look at the browser window, update these events with these dates and locations. While it did its thing, I walked away from my computer. I checked in on it periodically just to make sure it was still running, then after 20 minutes or so, it was done. I went onto Eventbrite and all my events were updated, just as I had asked! It felt like magic, and gave me that giddy excited feeling when I discover a fun new tool to tinker with.

Did it take longer than if I had done it all manually? Yes, I noticed it takes 15-20 seconds in between button clicks. But does that matter? No, because I didn't have to lift a finger. I got to spend that time doing more enjoyable tasks while my computer did the busywork for me. It is objectively slow, and therefore not suitable for all tasks, but this is UI scripting finally working reliably and I cannot wait to see where it goes next.
